A full day of birding (7am-5pm) visiting the highlights of western Sydney. These include Pitt Town lagoon (229), Bushell’s lagoon (220), Richmond Lowlands (202) , Emu Green (181), Penrith Weir (195), Wianamatta Reserve (152), Castlereagh Nature Reserve (174) and Scheyville NP (180).
Birds include waders, egrets, cormorants, ducks, kits, eagles, fairywrens, honeyeaters, grass birds, parrots, thornbills and many more.
The numbers in brackets refer to the number of different species which have been recorded at each site.
Expect to see/hear 60-80 species.
Meet at a set location. Pick-ups on request.
Binoculars, bird book, bird apps supplied.
What to bring
Bring hat, sunscreen, sturdy shoes, water, snacks and lunch.
