Newcastle birding tours are getting 100+ bird species

The latest Aussie Bird Tours day trips to Newcastle are seeing over 100+ bird species in a day. Not bad for a day tour!!
An early start from Sydney and then to Ourimbah for a variety of rainforest birds including Green Catbird, Yellow-throated Scrubwren, Bassian Thrush and Regent Bowerbird.
Then onto Hunter Wetlands centre, a RAMSAR location, for Magpie Geese, Wandering Whistling Duck and Plumed Egret. Ash Island is the next stop for Bar-tailed Godwit, Red-necked Avocet and Black Swan.
Stockton Sandspit is the high tide roosting spot for a variety of waders and shorebirds including Pacific Golden Plover, Whimbrel, Curlew Sandpiper, Terek Sandpiper, Grey-tailed Tattler and Mangrove Gerygone.
Finally to Hexham Swamp which is always good for Brown Falcon, Swamp Harrier, visiting Sharp-tailed Sandpiper and Caspian Tern.
Only 4 people per trip, over 100+ species and a great day out.
